About the Farm
Blooming Hill Farm is celebrating our 27th year of growing organic vegetables in the heart of the Hudson Valley. We grow over 200 varieties of organic produce, including over 30 varieties of tomato and 24 varieties of greens, including six types of kale, five varieties of chard, and eight types radicchio.
Twenty-seven years ago, Guy Jones started his own vineyard and a small patch of organic vegetables. Before long, Guy outgrew the small plot of vegetables and transitioned from a gardener to a farmer. The Jones family quickly found their niche supplying the up-and-coming chefs of Manhattan's Greenmarket in Union Square. Before long, they were custom growing produce for restaurants. Blooming Hill Farm was born.
Today, Blooming Hill farm is still a small, family-operated farm. Located in an area that was once the breadbasket of the American Revolution, it is now one of the few remaining farms in town. Our retail farm stand is situated on 25 acres of rolling hills and forest, in Blooming Grove, NY—about 60 miles north of Manhattan. We grow most of our crops on 40 acres of blackdirt in Chester, NY.
Our farm stand in Blooming Grove is open on weekends during the growing season, and Saturdays throughout the year.
We owe our continuance to the diversity of our crops and to the dedication of our customers, whose understanding of the importance of local, organic agriculture, is equaled by their understanding of quality produce for their family.
